About the Firm

Gustavson/Dundes, a 30-year-old architectural and design firm, was featured in the September 2012 issue of Elle Decor magazine and the August 12, 2012 New York Times Real Estate section for its innovative design concepts. Focusing primarily on the New York metropolitan area, the firm is known for its highly trained and experienced architects who provide focused attention and innovative design to both large and small commercial and residential projects.  The Principals have developed a reputation for trust and for their hands-on commitment to each project.

With a strong sense of design and a commitment to meeting the goals, objectives and budgets of its clients, the Firm works carefully to deliver its projects on time and as defined by its clients and the Firm together.  The Partners, as Team Leaders, manage every step of the design and construction process…from the beginning until the end.  This attention to detail is a critical component of the Firm’s philosophy, and a primary reason for its continued success.  Gustavson/Dundes prides itself on frequent repeat business from clients who have consistently recognized its talent and skills.

Large companies and institutions, including Estée Lauder, McDonalds, JCPenney, and several Investment Banking Firms have retained Gustavson/Dundes to design and build multiple locations over multi-years. The Firm has also completed a number of institutional projects, including houses of worship in New York City and Westchester County.

The Firm’s residential practice includes complete renovations of large pre-and post-war apartments, townhouses and loft spaces.  The Firm also designs alterations, additions and new suburban and country homes.  It is frequently crucial to maintain the architectural integrity of properties while redesigning them to meet the needs of today’s families. The integration of both contemporary and classical features is frequently a key part of the design process.
